Managing Pain

Pain is primarily physical, but it can also be modulated by our psychological or emotional state. Fear, stress or grief can make the pain worse. Conversely, joy, happiness or pleasure of being in good company can mitigate it. It is normal to experience pain at certain times during a lifetime; it is not necessary to endure it! See how you can counter the pain instead of undergoing it.

Headaches

Many people suffer from occasional headaches; some even have to deal with a disabling reality: migraine. When you are afflicted with headaches or migraines, it is difficult to concentrate and go about your usual activities.

Do not let pain settle – treat it as soon as possible! Some over-the-counter medications, such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen, can be used for relief of headaches, including migraines.

Muscle pain

If you are a very active person, you should never let the pain interfere with your busy days. Your job, the sports you practice and your lifestyle may present a risk of muscle pain. When this risk materializes, why not visit your family pharmacist? Using an analgesic such as acetaminophen, an anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen, or a muscle relaxant such as methocarbamol may be helpful.

Back pain

Every day of your life, your back supports you and your many activities. This indispensable ally deserves your full attention and needs to be protected on a daily basis to continue to play its supporting role well. So be attentive to your back and ask yourself how to keep it healthy. When sending you pain signals, consider them.

Poor work or sleep, too much effort or physical activity, a false movement or a shock are examples of factors that strain your back and can hurt your back. In case of back pain, do not delay in consulting a health professional. Some over-the-counter pain relievers can provide you with fast relief, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
